Likes: I always find balanced reviews best, but unfortunately I didn't have positive opinions of this place. There was a mix of dirty dishes and uneaten food next to the buffet line, and the dining area tables and carpet were dirty. The organization was messy and the buffet was not kept clean. Salad? Yes, but standard iceberg lettuce with canned vegetable toppings and cream-based dressings. Veggies: Previously frozen as well, 'steamed' and sitting in the steam water and soggy. There were only 2 protein options, hamburgers swimming in warm water and chicken enchiladas (big tray style). Which all sound good, except all of it tasted previously frozen. The buffet was not worth $4! 'Beige Food Groups' selection standards: french fries, mashed potatoes, fried mushrooms. Most had their shirts untucked or partially untucked and both served food and cleaned tables. The staff in the dining area were polite and responsive, but unprofessional looking. You do have to sign up for a players card in order to get the buffet special.ĭislikes: The overwhelming tobacco smoke smell in the casino extended into the dining area. The Cities of Gold Casino is located about 20 minutes north of Santa Fe and very easy to get to. We saw the sign for cheap buffet prices and there are no reviews of the buffet that I could find before going there, so we risked it.
